Snow Again......
It snowed again!! I am so ready for Spring. We went to a wedding lastnight and I got the chance to talk to one of Nick's great aunts......that I love....because she is always doing the coolest things. She is into making jewelry right now and was showing it to me lastnight. It was such cute stuff that I would pay some money for.....so, I love talking to her. She also sews and has her whole life...so, I was asking her some questions since I am still in the market for a sewing machine. I am hoping for a relaxing weekend......

Relaxing and Fun Weekend!!
We had a fun weekend. The weather has been so yucky, but we were determined to make the best of it. We ended up visiting our friends at the lake....which is always a fun time. They are like family.....really nice, comfortable to be around, and a lot of fun.
This weather makes me wish I was on vacation. I have already started looking into "sites" to visit......we had so much fun last year and can't wait to go back to our little island of Siesta Key (this picture is on a June morning at the beach)!!

Good Book.......
I am reading a good book by Debbie Macomber called One Simple Act. Nick bought it for me for Christmas and I love it. It really makes you think about how you treat others and how to discover the power of generosity; which all of us could use!!!
Love it!!!
Love it!!!

Things I have been up to......
-I just discovered Facebook. I know...I know...where have I been!!! I made fun of the girls at work for being on it....I guess I owe them an apology :)
I don't know if I will use it often....it's very different!
-I have been reading several books.....good ones. I will add a list later.....
My favorite right now is by Debbie Macomber (my friend Miriam got me hooked on her, thanks Miriam).
-taking down the Christmas tree makes me sad....because Christmas time is so special and I do like the way the tree looks with the decor :)
-cooking....my mother is the absolute best cook in the world and she loves cookbooks....she buys them for me all the time. I had to tell her to quit. Anyway, I have been looking through them and finding some new things to experiment with....if I come up with something good, I'll share it. I feel like we cook the same things over and over and over...and you get my point!
-soap...my sister-in-law gave me some lovely goat soap from a local company for Christmas(they actually make it out of their house and have a business)....it's wonderful. I love it and will have to get more. I will add the link next time....I have to find it, first.
-Some of my resolutions:
-be healthier
-treat people like God would want me to
-be a better wife, daughter, sister, friend, boss, co-worker, etc.
-spend more time praying and being thankful
-volunteering my time for something I believe in
I hope everyone has had a safe and happy New Year, so far......and I hope the rest of the year is full of love and happiness for all.

Merry Christmas

It's finally here....Merry Christmas!! Today we spent time with my family and tomorrow we will spend time with Nick's. I thought I would add some cute pictures of our "baby".....he is the sweetest thing!! He, obviously, didn't like his reindeer antlers. I hope everyone has a safe holiday. Remember to thank God for everything/everyone in your life this season....and always.

It's Christmas......

Can you believe Christmas is in 1 week....I have several more gifts to buy, decorations that I still haven't put out/up, and don't even get me started on the wrapping paper and gift bags. This is the first year that I can remember being so "behind" on Christmas. I feel like time is passing me by......but, I have vowed to finish my shopping this weekend. Once I have it done.....everything will seem better. GEEZ LOUISE!!!
I have some vacation time coming up and I am really looking forward to it. I am so thankful this year for the blessings in my life....to include my job and vacation time :)
Also, I have been thinking....do you put money in the red salvation army tins? I did before, but now I find myself digging for change....I read a book about a girl that had to be a bell ringer and the people that she encountered.....I thought......I cannot imagine being a bell ringer. I would probably be fired in 2 seconds...especially if someone got rude with me. The point I am making is....we learn so much when we step out of our comfort zone (like the girl in the book did)....and what we learn changes us for life. It changed me...I dig for change now and I don't shy away from the person if I don't have change. I tell them Merry Christmas and smile. They don't have an easy job...so remember people like them that are giving their time/effort for others.
One more thing....several of you have asked about my co-worker from the previous post. She is doing well considering the circumstances. I am amazed by her ability to be at peace with God's plan. Continue to pray for them.
Merry Christmas to all!!!

Faith....

A co-worker of mine has been facing an extreme tragedy.....she lost her daughter and two grandchildren in a car accident. I have had a hard time all week with wondering WHY.......how do these things happen to good people. I realize that I must, we all must, have faith. Faith in God...that he has a plan for all of us. It doesn't make it easier to understand, but I just pray...pray some more....and pray again. May God Bless...and remember....have faith.

Holiday time is here......
I love the holidays. I can't get enough of all of the movies (The Grinch, Home Alone, and Christmas Vacation).....and food, of course. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday (we cooked WAY too much food). However, I do like to have an abundance of options. Also, I did go shopping the day after (not at 4am)....it wasn't too crazy. I have a good start to my Christmas shopping.....but, I have this problem of picking up things for myself while shopping for others. I need to focus on needs instead of wants......there I have it, my resolution for the New Year. That was easy!!
Anyway, I will be posting pictures of my lovely tree and the little guy.....soon. There have been some busy times at work and I need to add that I am thankful for my job (it does help me stay grounded on bad days).
I hope everyone had a happy holiday and I will have some pictures soon. I am trying to get Stitch to put on the reindeer stuff I bought him two years ago. He doesn't like it :) He does love his Christmas tree and stares at it every morning when Nick turns it on for him. I am not kidding.....he is the cutest thing you have ever seen.
Happy Holidays to all.......
