Merry Christmas

It's finally here....Merry Christmas!! Today we spent time with my family and tomorrow we will spend time with Nick's. I thought I would add some cute pictures of our "baby".....he is the sweetest thing!! He, obviously, didn't like his reindeer antlers. I hope everyone has a safe holiday. Remember to thank God for everything/everyone in your life this season....and always.

It's Christmas......

Can you believe Christmas is in 1 week....I have several more gifts to buy, decorations that I still haven't put out/up, and don't even get me started on the wrapping paper and gift bags. This is the first year that I can remember being so "behind" on Christmas. I feel like time is passing me by......but, I have vowed to finish my shopping this weekend. Once I have it done.....everything will seem better. GEEZ LOUISE!!!
I have some vacation time coming up and I am really looking forward to it. I am so thankful this year for the blessings in my life....to include my job and vacation time :)
Also, I have been thinking....do you put money in the red salvation army tins? I did before, but now I find myself digging for change....I read a book about a girl that had to be a bell ringer and the people that she encountered.....I thought......I cannot imagine being a bell ringer. I would probably be fired in 2 seconds...especially if someone got rude with me. The point I am making is....we learn so much when we step out of our comfort zone (like the girl in the book did)....and what we learn changes us for life. It changed me...I dig for change now and I don't shy away from the person if I don't have change. I tell them Merry Christmas and smile. They don't have an easy job...so remember people like them that are giving their time/effort for others.

One more thing....several of you have asked about my co-worker from the previous post. She is doing well considering the circumstances. I am amazed by her ability to be at peace with God's plan. Continue to pray for them.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Faith....

A co-worker of mine has been facing an extreme tragedy.....she lost her daughter and two grandchildren in a car accident. I have had a hard time all week with wondering WHY.......how do these things happen to good people. I realize that I must, we all must, have faith. Faith in God...that he has a plan for all of us. It doesn't make it easier to understand, but I just pray...pray some more....and pray again. May God Bless...and remember....have faith.

Holiday time is here......

I love the holidays. I can't get enough of all of the movies (The Grinch, Home Alone, and Christmas Vacation).....and food, of course. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday (we cooked WAY too much food). However, I do like to have an abundance of options. Also, I did go shopping the day after (not at 4am)....it wasn't too crazy. I have a good start to my Christmas shopping.....but, I have this problem of picking up things for myself while shopping for others. I need to focus on needs instead of wants......there I have it, my resolution for the New Year. That was easy!!

Anyway, I will be posting pictures of my lovely tree and the little guy.....soon. There have been some busy times at work and I need to add that I am thankful for my job (it does help me stay grounded on bad days).

I hope everyone had a happy holiday and I will have some pictures soon. I am trying to get Stitch to put on the reindeer stuff I bought him two years ago. He doesn't like it :) He does love his Christmas tree and stares at it every morning when Nick turns it on for him. I am not kidding.....he is the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Happy Holidays to all.......

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I am thankful for.....

-my wonderful husband, loving family, and caring friends
-Stitch
-my health
-my job
-our troops

........but most of all, I am thankful that Jesus died for us.....and we have eternal life. Find something to be thankful for and find someone to share it with.....tis this wonderful season.

Weekend....What Weekend??

Time sure does fly when you're having fun....

Last Friday night a group of us from work went to a Trivial Pursuit Competition at the local YMCA....it was a lot of fun. I was surprised at how much everybody knew. I work with some really smart people.

Saturday came early...too early. Brother and I went to pick up Mom in West Virginia (that is her with her cousin Debby and Aunt Viv in the above picture). That was fun and the weather was amazing!! Is it really November?

Sunday was catch up day...and Brother took Mom and I out to dinner.

Nick was busy in the woods hunting all weekend. I am kind of glad he didn't get a deer (don't tell him my secret). They are such beautiful animals.

I bought my first Christmas gift.....

I bet you can't guess who I bought a Christmas gift for.......you probably can guess.....yes, it was Stitch!!! I found him the cutest toy....with bells on it. He loves anything with bells and feathers. I had to hurry up and hide it, so that he wouldn't see it. Can you imagine me with children?? I will be nuts. Can't wait.

Nick and I took my mom to West Virginia today....to meet up with some of her family. It was a beautiful drive and made me realize how different life is there. The people there are so laid back....they don't hurry or rush. I can't imagine not being in a hurry all the time. It's very peaceful to watch them live their life.
This weekend is a true fall weekend and it's wonderful. I can't get enough of this weather.

Fall Fun.......

What a busy weekend. We had a great Halloween....eating, giving out candy, visiting with family and friends, and more eating. Today, my family came over to eat. My mom is the BEST cook. She came over and we cooked dinner together...it was fun and really good. We cooked too much and obviously ate too much. I had to post these pictures of Stitch....he loves the camera. He was busy watching all of the kids in costume last night....I caught him napping this morning....he was tired from all of the excitement.
